Add Requirements to SRS

Bread Crumbs: Home - SW_Dev_Proc - Req Engr - Add Req to SRS

The Systems Requirement Specification (SRS) document contains all of the official system requirements. On some projects, this might only be a section of a larger project document. On yet other projects, this might be a requirements database that can generate an extract of all requirements as a report at any time.

As alluded to in the previous paragraph, the SRS can be captured in many forms. The SRS could be a text document, a Word document, an Excel spreadsheet, or data stored in a database system. Of these various forms, the database approach is recommended. By keeping requirements and their specifications stored in a database, users can retrieve the most current requirements data at any time as a database report. Using an ad-hoc report generator front-end application along with the database management system, users can generate the whole SRS in a nicely formatted report document or even generate certain sections of the SRS as needed.
