BIOL 4131

Ecology

This course is an introduction to theoretical ecology that includes the study of (1) the physical, chemical and biological factors that affect the distribution and abundance of organisms in their natural environments, (2) mathematical models for population growth, competition and predation, and (3) community ecology models, including succession, species diversity, primary and secondary productivity, and trophic structure.  

BIOL 4131 is a core course for undergraduate BIOL majors and undergraduate ENSC-BIOL majors.  Completion of a general biology course is a prerequisite for this class. 

BIOL 4131 is offered every spring and fall semester.
