![]() The Computer science program manages many servers for CS students. These servers are administered by CS students under the supervision of Ms. Krishani Abeysekera, our lecturer and Systems administrator.
The DCM server (dcm.uhcl.edu) also runs Windows and supports many CSCI courses, such as CSCI 4134 Advanced Development with Java, CSCI 4230 Web Application Development, CSCI 5633 Web Application Development and CSCI 5733 XML Application Development. The server was launched with the support of a grant from the National Science Foundation. The Sun Server was launched through a major grant from Sun's Microsystems and runs the Solaris operating systems. It is used to support many CSCI courses, such as CSCI 3333 Data Structures, CSCI 3532 Advanced Data Structures, etc. There are also many servers that runs on Linux and Windows to support regular courses, capstone projects and thesis. Students requesting server support should contact Ms. Krishani Abeysekera. Technical questions can be directed to her or her research and administration assistants. UHCL maintains university level servers through University Computing and Telecommunications (UCT). These servers allow students to use UCT laboratories and access email. Requests and technical questions concerning university labs and servers should be directed to the UCT Academic Laboratory Support Center.
