Dr. Terry Feagin
Dr. Terry Feagin is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. His degrees include a B.A. in Math and Physics from Rice University (1967), a Master of Science from the University of Texas at Austin (1969), and a Ph. D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (1972). Dr. Feagin was a National Research Council / National Academy of Sciences Postdoctoral Research Associate in residence at NASA-Goddard from 1972-73. In 1973, he joined the faculty of the University of Tennessee as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and also as an Assistant Professor in Aerospace Engineering. In 1978-79, he was the Associate Director for Research and Development of the UT Computing Center in Knoxville. In 1980, he became Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 1982, he was promoted to Professor. In 1984, Dr. Feagin took a position as Professor of Computer Science at UH-Clear Lake in Houston, Texas. Over the last twenty-two years at UHCL, Dr. Feagin has taught over 30 different courses. Dr. Feagin has served on the Organizing Committee for two NATO Advanced Study Institutes and on the Astrodynamics Technical Committee of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Faculty Senate (University of Tennessee, Knoxville and University of Houston-Clear Lake), and as the Chair of the Library, Research, and Computing Committee. Dr. Feagin's research interests include diagnostic knowledge-based systems, fuzzy logic, computer graphics and interface design, numerical methods, computer modeling and simulation, performance analysis, programming languages, and scientific and software visualization. His sponsored research at UHCL has accounted for over $746,000 in grants to UHCL. |
