![]() Dr. Said Bettayeb
Dr. Bettayeb is an associate professor of computer science and computer information systems. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in computer science from Northwestern University and his Diplôme d'Ingénieur d'État in computer science from l'Université de Constantine, Algeria. Dr. Bettayeb has published numerous papers in the area of parallel computation, graph embedding, and VLSI design. He has directed 6 Ph.D. dissertations and over 50 Master's projects and theses. He had served also as a committee member for 10 Ph.D. dissertations and as external member for 4. Dr. Bettayeb was one of those who pioneered the IEEE Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing (SPDP). He has served as Field-Editor of the Journal of Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science, and a Guest-Editor of the Theoretical Computer Science Journal special issue on the Design and Analysis of Geometrical Algorithms in the Context of Computational Aspects of Vision and Motion Planning in Robotics. Dr. Bettayeb is on the Technical Committee for the IJAIT, and program committee for the IASTED Parallel and Distributed Computing and Networks (PDCN 2005) and served on many others. He organized several workshops and served on the program committees for various prestigious symposia and conferences. He is a reviewer for NSF, LEQSF (the Louisiana Education Quality Support Fund), and many journals such as IEEE TC, IEEE TPDS, TCS, and IJAIT. Dr. Bettayeb's research has been funded by LEQSF, and FRSF. Dr. Bettayeb's research interests: Algorithms Design, Parallel and Distributed Computing, VLSI Design and Computation, Grid Computing, Information Security, and Data Mining. |
