NSF STEM Scholarship for Fall 2008

The NSF STEM scholarship program is again open for application for the Fall semester:

The scholarship program is based on a $477,000 grant Dr. Hall and I have received from the National Science Foundation. There are some elgibility requirements. You must be an undergraduate majoring in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or Mathematics. It requires US citizenship or permanent residence. Information and application forms are available from the website.
This is an excellent opportunity for those qualified. Up to 22 scholarship with stipends up to $5,000 will be awarded in the Fall semester. The program is funded to at least 2010.
If you are interested, you should apply as soon as possible. The scholarship committee will award scholarship as quick as possible. Even though the priority application deadline is July 18th, it pays to apply early.
Besides financial reward and the prestige of a national scholarship, the program also come with many other benefits. The UHCL NSF Scholar Organization will have full faculty and financial support to organize useful career enhancing activities. There are also funding to travel to conferences. In fact, many activities mentioned in this blog are organized by the program, such as:
