Welcome to the UHCL CS/CIS blog!
This is an experimental blog mostly for students, alumni and faculty members of the Computer Science (CS) and Computer Information Systems (CIS) programs at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. The bloggers are CS/CIS faculty members and selected guests . We will blog about departmental news, announcements, courses, jobs of surrounding companies, research projects, curriculum issues, computer science education topics, etc.
We will also blog on topics interesting to the general academia audiences, such as our takes on computing research, education, trends, scholarship, etc.
We believe that blogs can be an effective tool to enhance communications between the faculty members and students and alumni, thus enriching the learning experience in our university.
This is experimental in nature and will become more focus as we monitor the feedback from our readers so your input is important.

I really liked the idea of this blog. By any chance are there any plans to open a forum of sorts? Where topics of interest may be posted to and discussed by all? This would probably be beneficial to not only current students, but to prospective students as well, whose queries could be answered online via the forum.

Ramesh, Thanks. That is an interesting idea. Opening up the blog to current students have a lot of appeal. However, we need to experiment with it first. We probably will invite a very small number of students as guest bloggers initially. Would you be interested?
