How participation will be assessed.
Updated January 26, 2008

5 out of 5: You ask a lot of questions during every class or you frequently post items on the discussion board. Your questions go beyond the lecture and are not just clarification questions. You sit in the first 2 rows of the class. You stop by my office, call, or email to talk about the course material or whatever interests you about Computer Science, Computer Informations Systems, or Software Engineering. It is evident that you are more interested in learning than just getting a good grade. It is evident that you are working hard in this class.

4 out of 5:  You sometimes ask questions. The questions tend to be clarification type questions. You hardly post on the discussion board. You hardly stop by my office. If you do stop by my office it is just for clarification of a concept.

3 out of 5: You are not late for class. You come back late from break. You are somewhat prepared for class. You do not always answer questions correctly when asked. You only stop by my office after a homework or test to see how you can do better or to beg for points.

Less than 3: You do not ask questions. You are late to arrive for class. You are late after the break. You don't seem to care.
