Your investment in the University of Houston-Clear Lake is a life-long investment, not just a relationship that ends after a few years. When the UHCL President handed you a diploma, the University of Houston-Clear Lake made a commitment to uphold the value of your degree and provide you with the type of continued services alumni deserve.

Founded in 1981, the University of Houston-Clear Lake Alumni Association is a component of the university. Through the integrated efforts of a corps of volunteers and a Board of Directors, the Association conducts programs which bring aumni together in support of the university. The Association's activities include but are not limited to fund raising, service and social programs.

Mission Statement

The mission of the UHCL Alumni Association is to preserve and enhance the integrity of the institution and to provide added value to the experience received through association with the University of Houston-Clear Lake. This mission is achieved through a variety of benefits which enrich the institution, faculty, students and alumni as well as strengthens its partnership with the universal community.

The purpose for which this Association is established is the promotion of the educational programs and objectives of the University of Houston-Clear Lake, by fostering and strengthening a spirit of loyalty and fraternalism among alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends and by achieving a unity of purpose and action through efforts to blend public and private support for those refinements which are characteristic of a great educational institution.

Alumni events support the UHCL Alumni Association Scholarship Endowment Fund. Proceeds from these events help deserving students further their education at UHCL.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award honors alumni who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought credit to the institution. This award is given annually at the Bayou Ball. A $1,000 scholarship is awarded in the name of the Distinguished Alumnus to student(s) from the school which the Alumnus designates.
